BLAKE
LENOIR
Blake Lenoir was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He started
drawing when he was three years old. Later, he drew by himself and
found motivation through practice and study. He believes that the
more he practices, the better his skills develop as a creative artist.
He sees it as a gift.
Lenoir’s detailed,
complex drawings reflect his interest in humanity and the environment.
He uses lead and colored pencils, markers, pens, acrylic paints,
erasers and sharpeners.
“Art has played
a significant role for my disability because it helps me make an
important impact as an artist. My disability doesn’t hurt
my art in any way, shape, fashion or form. Everyone’s proud
of my artwork. Art has taken me to many new places I never been
before in my whole imagination.”
Lenoir exhibits his work
through a studio program for artists with special needs administered
by the City of Chicago. “It has made me grow as an artist
and a human being. Art has made me a more rounded person as well
as a communicator.”
