TCG Grant Will Bring Respect to More NYC Youths

Cast members of HAI’s Respect, a theatrical production directed by renowned choreographer George Faison, have something special to celebrate this summer. Theater Communications Group (TCG), a national organization whose purpose is to nurture, strengthen, and promote professional not-for-profit American theatre, awarded Respect a $50,000 two-year grant through the New Generations Program. Funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, The Andrew W. Mellow Foundation and administered by TCG, the program supports the work of theatre groups that bring performances to new audiences.

Through New Generations funding, Respect will expand its production schedule beyond NYC public schools and the criminal justice system to reach out to new audiences at alternative community based venues throughout New York City’s five boroughs.
