In 2002, Princeton
University selected
HAI to launch a program called Arts Alive! This venture provided free
tickets to up to 10,000 New York City area schoolchildren from the
districts most directly affected by the September 11th attacks. Arts
Alive! brought them live arts and cultural experiences, as well as
educational opportunities. The program also helped support the arts
and cultural organizations in New York City through ticket purchases,
and created opportunities for Princeton University students to conduct
workshops for schoolchildren. HAI worked with the New York City Board
of Education to identify the schools and students that will participate.
Arts Alive! began in early February 2002 and continued through December
2003.
