Collaborative
mask drawing by students at South Richmond High School
Our Classroom Art Institutes motivate and
inspire students by relating curriculum to the arts and
their everyday interests. Students learn about Brazil or
the African Diaspora through Capoeira, or about Spanish
culture through Flamenco. A study of the Renaissance includes
a Classroom Art Institute on perspective and painting and
drawing and the science of art. History is studied through
putting on plays or seeing live theater, such as Shakespeare
or other productions, such as “Inherit the Wind.”
Cost: $200/45 minute session + $150/planning
and evaluation. Suggested 10 session series per class, but
can be more or less as needed.
Instructional Trips to museums and other
cultural venues, from sports events to Broadway plays relate
curriculum to enjoyable experiences and connect students
to New York City resources.
Cost: Dependent upon ticket costs/admission fees
